Childproof the Stairs and Hallway

• Install safety gates at top and bottom of stairs. Gates that screw into wall are more secure than those that use pressure.. Don’t use accordion-type gates, which can cause strangulation.
• Remove any clutter or toys near stairs to prevent tripping.
• Install handrails along entire length of stairs if not there already.
